Mexican Footballer Moisés Muñoz Explains Hospitalization Cause

Mexican footballer Moisés Muñoz explained in a social media video that his hospitalization was due to kidney stones and a bowel obstruction, which caused him intense pain. Muñoz detailed that the discomfort began in the early morning before traveling from Tulum to Mexico City. "I also had a bowel obstruction," he explained. Muñoz emphasized that he did not require surgery or an operating room, which he considered positive news in this medical episode. The pain was located in the lower right abdomen, accompanied by nausea. "I started to feel very bad since the early morning... a very specific pain on the right side of the lower abdomen, with the urge to vomit," he explained in his message. Despite the symptoms, he decided to travel and fulfill a public commitment related to the inauguration of soccer fields in Mexico City. However, after the first event, the pain increased in intensity and spread towards the kidney area. "After the first event, I still felt very bad, the pain was much stronger and had moved to the back, towards the kidney," he recounted. Faced with the situation, he decided to go to the emergency room of a nearby hospital, where he received immediate attention last Wednesday. Moisés Muñoz's appendicitis is ruled out after medical studies at a CDMX hospital. Once admitted, the former goalkeeper underwent various clinical studies, including a CT scan and an ultrasound, which ruled out appendicitis, a version that had circulated on social media. "It was not appendicitis, they ruled out appendicitis with a CT scan and an ultrasound," he specified. The final diagnosis confirmed that the intense pain originated from kidney stones, in addition to a bowel obstruction, which aggravated the abdominal symptoms. After identifying the problem, doctors were able to administer the appropriate treatment. "It turned out to be kidney stones... the ones that were making me double over in pain," he added. Former player confirms he is now at home in Tulum. After receiving treatment and stabilizing, Muñoz returned to Tulum, where he currently resides and works as the general director of youth and sports for the municipality. "I was able to come back here to spend these days with my family... right now I am here, everything is perfectly fine," he reported. The former player took the opportunity to thank his friends, family, and fans for their messages of support, who had remained attentive to his health status in the days following the incident. "Thank you very much to everyone for your concern and for the messages you sent me," he expressed. In addition, he reiterated that his intention in sharing the video was to avoid confusion and stop incorrect versions about his medical condition. "That was the clarification so that the information is not distorted," he concluded. Moisés Muñoz thanks the medical attention at the General Hospital of Ticomán. During his message, the former national team player recognized the work of the medical staff that attended to him at the General Hospital of Ticomán, in the Gustavo A. Madero mayor's office. "They received me spectacularly... there were four other people in the emergency room with me and the four of us received the same attention, quality attention," he pointed out. The former player emphasized that the treatment was not conditioned by his public profile and highlighted the general attention provided to all patients present. "It has nothing to do with you being a public figure... all five of us were attended to in the best possible way," he added. He also extended his gratitude to the nurses, doctors, security personnel, and hospital workers for the attention he received during his stay.
